First-Year Orientation

If you graduated from high school within the last year and are starting college for the first time, BroncoVenture Orientation for First-Year students is for you. This includes students who have earned college-level AP, IB and dual enrollment credit.

For first year students starting in the fall semester, BroncoVenture Orientation for First-Year students is a 2-day program that will help you get ready for your future at Boise State. Our staff will ease your transition to college life by sharing the ins and outs of what you’ll need to know before your first day of classes. All new students are expected to attend an Orientation before registering for classes.

What can I expect at Orientation?

It will be fun, exciting, and maybe a little scary, but at the end of the day, you’ll be glad you’re a Bronco. At Orientation you can expect to:

  • Receive introductory academic advising
  • Register for classes
  • Receive your Bronco ID Card
  • Meet other new students and Orientation Leaders
  • Experience what it’s like in the residence halls by staying overnight (optional)
  • Learn how to navigate Boise State’s campus and resources

If you are interested in seeing a tentative schedule of Orientation, visit our Dates & Cost section.

Can I bring my family?

Yes! We’ve created BroncoVenture Family Orientation especially for your family. Family Orientation has additional costs for each family member. See our Dates and Cost section for more information.

Do you require special accommodations?

If you or your guests have access, language, or special dietary needs that may require accommodations while attending BroncoVenture Orientation, you can indicate your needs when you sign up. In addition to providing this information electronically, please contact New Student & Family Programs at (208) 426-1679 to discuss your needs. Call at least 7-10 business days before your BroncoVenture Orientation to ensure your needs can be met.
